Starting up

When I first came across my first cozy, it was a gift from a coworker of mine, his wife had made them. She asked him to bring a few to the office and hand them out to us. I was so impressed of her sewing and the concept of this tool. I had asked Rick if his wife has a store to buy more cozy, but she did not. Hmmm, I thought it was a great idea. I was curious to know how she had made the cozy. Sewing is a hobby of mine too. That day I wanted to test the cozy, I placed my bowl of food inside it, and heated the food in two-minute intervals. I took the bowl from the microwave… Wala! the food was hot, and the cozy was not! Amazing! This kitchen tool is perfect for me; I shall create my own cozy! But how? What material do I need, the cozy is padded, but with what? I took one of the cozies and I explored it… Now it all makes sense.

Months has passed and I have not been able to sew my cozy after I had bought all the materials I needed. Work had been so busy; no time for my hobby.

Then the pandemic, COVID-19 happened. Businesses shut down until further notice. Months passed, laws changed and there came the stimulus. Wow that money will come very handy. I must think of my future, now what?

Since I had lost my job, finding employment during the pandemic was challenging. I kept thinking and thinking… Hmmm, what can I do with the stimulus money? That’s it! I pulled out the material, the dissected cozy and my sewing machine. Tada! Cozy!!! Why not make cozies and start my own brand?

I felt so excited, happier. I can do this! Then am doubting the idea. Having my own online store is not that simple. Especially, when I don’t have the support, I need. Although, my friends and family had seen the glow I had on my face when talking about my idea. Their emotional support inspired me to move forward with my shop, I have some skills that will help me, sewing, photography, accounting, patience, and determination. I can practice the same enjoyment working for myself as I did for employers. I can do this, I did it!!!!

MicroCozy, this kitchen tool can be in so many other kitchens. Believe me when I say, MicroCozy, the concept, is convenience! I use my cozy for almost anything I eat in a bowl. Hot or Cold. Literally, I fill my bowl with cereal, sometimes to the rim, then I add the milk! Cereal is spilling outside the bowl, but guess what, the spill of cheerios is inside the cozy, not on the floor, lol. I stopped using my oven mitten and potholer to remove the bowl out of the microwave. That is the purpose of the cozy. I’ve never heard of heating your food with a kitchen towel or potholder, in the microwave, have you? Handling your food, with the cozy, from the microwave, can be the easiest, safest, way.

I cannot wait to sew more cozies, I can see them on my dinner table, adding a nicer touch to my décor. In addition, passing the bowl of food with the cozy, to the person next to you without burning your and their hands! So neat, safe, clean, and convenient. No microwavable bowl should be without its MicroCozy.
